Acer Aspire GPU Upgrade

I am wanting to upgrade my GPU as i have an onboard one at the moment, space is tight in my system but i have seen people using dedicated cards such as this.

Hi Raddy, 

That PSU has 14 Amps on your 12+ volts and Max 220w. You are going to have a hard time with that power supply and modern graphics cards. You are more than likely pulling close to Max power already. You might want to upgrade that PSU if your looking to put a powerful graphics card in that machine.

Do you know of any PSU's that would work in my PC also any compatible GPU's.

If its a standard PSU you can change it, but that system is very old. I am not sure its worth changing PSU.

If your tight on cash, second hand could be a option.

Yes Brian bit strapped for the old spondoolies at the mo Smile, that bundle looks not bad but i was just wanting to upgrade this system at the moment. Now after some research i have seen my PC can the 2 cards below, please explain the difference and which is best.

Hi RADDY, you going to have to rethink this one mate, power needed is to great according to there web sites. Look on Ebay for a cheap PSU

That link I posted for Ebay PSU was a great PSU and it went for £23 be quiet! Pure Power L8 630W PSU
You missed a good deal there mate, would of solved a lot of your problems for power.

@RADDY1993 The MSI UK N720 you listed requires a 300W PSU as stated in the specs. You will need to upgrade that PSU. That card also consumes 23W under load.

Soz m8 had to go out just got back Sad , so back to looking for a PSU i suppose . Do you have any other ones that would fit my system, remember im tight on space.

I know Tim but a few shops i phoned today said they think it would of been ok to run that GPU with my PSU. Do you have any ideas of the PSU i could use im system. Remeber i have little space https://images.pcworld.com/reviews/graphics/products/uploaded/acer_x3400.html_585105_g3.jpg.

You going to have to look for 24pin slim PSU here are two I found with quick look, they are small, but your have to check size to see if they will fit.
