Dissapointed Windows Media Center is to be discontinued, but here are some good alternatives for Windows Media Player are

There are always better performing alternatives than in using Windows software utilities.

Not sure why. After seeing the list you provided, I opted for foobar2000 and it's nice and light with no jumping of tracks.
