Can you fry a hard drive when the system has a sata 3 connection and the hd isa sata2

I ordered a hard drive which had issues so i received a replacement hard drive.
My computer is a dx7300 slim tower that supports sata 3. 3gpbs and the hard drive im asking about is a sata 2 with 3gbps

It won't be an issue as it's backwards compatible. With respect to the noises, it could be a fan that needs some cleaning or  could be a wire in the way of the blades

Drive sounds normal by the way

You didnt hear what sounded like paper being ripped up? That sound is coming from the hard drive

Point me to that part of the clip where it sounds like paper being ripped up

If you can block out the sound of the hard drive being on and hear the paper being ripped or another for it could be static. about 16seconds in to it you can really hear it but the sound is through a majority of the recording
