it could be a hardware problem or it could be the video driver
the reason why I am telling you to reinstall the video driver is that if the problem comes back
we already Eliminate the video driver as the problem

It's flashing Red?. Could be the signal from the cable that is sent to the screen is cutting out.
- GPU could be defective?
- Video cable could be defective and not transmitting the signal correctly?
- Video cable is loose?
- Possible graphics driver issue?
The only way to tell is by tearing down the laptop

You will want to connect the computer to a known good external monitor to see if the color issue happens there. This will rule out a bad screen or vid cable.

I still would check with a known good external monitor to confirm.
