Need to remove 2 other connections
#1
I would like to know how can I remove two wireless connections that I don't need. Both are with the name John's 5G and other is NetGear74. The only connection that I want to keep is NetGear74-5G. That was my mistake with those two wireless connections. I am hoping that someone here can tell me how to remove them for good. OK have another question about the icon on taskbar. How can I change from the icon in Windows 10 Pro 64X with " wireless " to " desktop " connection on right corner of taskbar. I did that before but can't remember  how to do this. Look forward to hear about those two questions that I ask.

Thank you,

John

First I want to make an apology that I did not answer to your reply till this morning. Anyway here is the information that you request. My router is Nighthawk AC1900 Smart WiFi Dual Band Gigabit Router ( R7000 ). I did not realize that I do have 2.4 wireless for android cellphones that need to. So I have to keep both 2.4 and 5.0 wireless on Network list.

Hope that will find you about this information.

Thank you,

John

If you used the WiFi button to turn off the WiFi radios, you can’t log in to the router to turn them back on. You must press the WiFi button again for two seconds to turn the WiFi radios back on.

To enable or disable the WiFi radios:

  1. Launch a web browser from a computer or mobile device that is connected to your router's network.
  2. Enter https://www.routerlogin.net.
  3. A login window opens.
  4. Enter the router user name and password.
  5. The user name is admin. The default password is password. The user name and password are case-sensitive.
  6. The BASIC Home page displays.
  7. Select ADVANCED > Advanced Setup > Wireless settings.
  8. In the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz-1, and 5 GHz-2 sections, select or clear the Enable Wireless Router Radio check boxes.
  9. Clearing these check boxes turns off the WiFi feature of the router for each band.
  10. Click the Apply button.
  11. If you turned off the WiFi radios, the WiFi LEDs turn off. If you turned on the WiFi radios, the WiFi LEDs light.
