To add what Brian was saying, some customers just insist that they buy the parts thinking that they can save some money which is all fine. The one thing you have to keep in mind is that if the customer insist on buying the parts make sure that you tell them that in no way can you put any warranty on those parts and in no way can you guarantee performance or compatibility on those parts. That way when you're assembling the computer and it doesn't boot up and the reason why it doesn't boot up is because of a part that the customer has purchased you are in no way financially liable to replace that part. If that computer crashes or breaks because of a piece of hardware that the customer purchased you are in no way responsible of having to cover the cost of repairing that.
