The application was unable to start Correctly
#1
Hi Guys,
After installing a new WD Hard drive,
I've now run into an issue with an error code
"The application was unable to start Correctly" (error code 0xc0000142).
The error code takes almost 5 minutes to post after booting up going to a dialogue box with this error.

I've been through tutorials talking about Intel update drivers issues which I've followed which didn't help.
I went to programs and uninstalled the INTEL update drivers program
Still have the code.

I've run the SFC using the system file checker still have the error code.
I've run DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

I reinstalled Windows 7 keeping all files and folders.
Updated all updates.

System completed all processes perfectly.
still error code.

Look forward to hearing from you
Phil

Hi Brian and Compton,
This the link to my Belarc Advisor Computer Profile
file:///C:/Program%20Files%20(x86)/Belarc/BelarcAdvisor/System/tmp/(JoeDairy-PC).html

I ran the clean boot outlined from the link you shared and still getting the same error dialogue box.

I look forward to hearing from you.
Phil.

One Quick update:
I ran the machine in Safe Mode and as you would guess there is no Error Dialogue Box.

Returning to normal startup the error returns

well that tells us something in normal mode is causing a problem

disable all startup items  then restart and check for errors

the link you posted is not working

britec did a video on how to post system on specs how the forum can.t find

  1. run  Msinfo32.exe
  2. select file
  3. select  save
  4. save the log file post it on the forum

Hi Brian and Compton,
After reading your post I thought back to the specific error message.
I typed in esrv.exe error
and received a video suggesting I uninstall the Intel driver support program.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JD7qpx7NkJc

Open Programs and Features
Uninstall Intel Drive Update Utility

when searching for this program I did not
find this specific program.

The programs did show Intell program assistant which I
uninstalled resulting in success!

I don't remember the specific name only to say that it had to do with
the intel drive update utility.
After uninstalling this program just as I previously did prior to the Windows 7 reinstall the computer is not
clear of the error message after three reboots!

I'm just curious if you guys know that when logging into the forum the check box reading remember login doesn't work.
One must login each time with their user id and password.
No biggy but adds time to logging in .

Thanks so much for your feedback

Phil.

my apologies for last post.
In summary, ALL issues are now resolved I have no further error dialogue boxes,

Thanks again

gold you got it working

I think what happen is that when you uninstall Intel Driver Update Utility

what probably happen is that when you  uninstall  Intel Driver Update Utility

registry startup keys are left behind  which cause the problem

it's best to uninstall the programs using  Revo uninstaller

what you can do is run a startup scan using CCleaner registry cleaner

select  run at startup

Hi everyone

Thanks to all of your expertise I can now report the Computer is back at home where it belongs.
The client was delighted with the outcome.

You guys should really consider starting a online forum to include tech videos! ha ha

Thanks again,
Phil.

I will let britec do videos I stick to forum lol

What should start happening more people should start using forum

I was thinking if cary start a forum it would probably crash in one day

And get more action but I would bet the britec forum would be the best in problem
solving lol
