Hi everyone
I recently purchased an old ThinkPad X60 that came with no operating system. The battery held charge and all was well. I installed xubuntu but couldn't configure it easily so I purchased a cheap Windows 7 Pro licence and started installing it.
After numerous windows updates where the it was working well all of a sudden my Lenovo battery will not keep the laptop operating. It reads as 96% but not charging and the laptop won't start with it as the only source of power. I did some system restores but no luck.
I've tried to search for any reasons however I've come up blank.
Luckily I had purchased a compatible battery in case the installed one didn't work and that does work as it appears and charges.
I'd rather not waste a battery that was lasting well for some simple reason if anyone has any answers?
Many thanks
Wayne
