Xbox Windows 10 Wireless Controller - Not Working
#1
Hi all

So Im been using a Xbox Windows 10 (wired verison) for many years on my Windows 10 64bit, but decided
to move to an "wireless version" to get get rid of wires.

So along with the new Xbox Wireless Controller I also purchased the Wireless Adapter for Windows 10
Having install the adapter and linking with controller, Im getting the following problem:

Althought the Wireless Controller does show in "Device and Printer" as I would expect, its not working correct
when using with P3D V4.4, basically not interacting correctly, unable to assign/change buttons etc

(If I connect the "Wired version" it works perfectly)

When I look into Device Manger the "Wireless Adapter"is showing correctly, but "Wireless Controller is showing as "Unknown Device" and
I get "Run Time Error message" appearing when I switch on the controller

Microsoft Visual C++ (Run Time Error)

I've tried the following:

Uninstalled "Unknown device" and restarted PC
Tried to update and install the software through Device Manager, but get error code 10
Repaired all Microsoft Visual C++
Reinstalled all Microsft Visual C++

Any support or suggestion for me to try would be very much welcomed

Many thanks

sounds like a wireless interference

remove wireless Adapter then check to see if the Xbox Wireless Controller is working

Hi

Thank you for suggestion, I tried removing the wireless adaptor, unfortunately that didnt resolve the issue
the wireless controller was just blanked out, so not even being seen my the PC, other devices are being seen

I did try and add device, switching on the controller, but it failed to find/add it..

I do have a Logitech wireless Keyboard & mouse, so dont know if thats impacted it... ??

So any more suggestions, warmly welcomed

Thank you again

Hi

Yes I have tired that again, unfortunately identical Run Time Error as screen shotted previously.

Im coming to the conclusion that I may just have to stick with Wired connection

Really appreciate your help, but not sure what else to do... maybe the many wireless connections are impacted it

Wireless interent adapter
Wireless Keyboard and Mouse

But if I have choice, will just have to live with the above

  1. select Unkown device
  2. select properties
  3. select details
  4. select Hardware ID
  5. copy the value
  6. paste it  on the forum
