Perhaps you're thinking of Windows Live OneCare

Advanced System Care (formerly Advanced Windows Care) has always been an Iobit product and actually was in competition with Microsoft's Windows Live OneCare..

Seriously, the next time anyone says they created a RAM Booster just ask that developer how it 'boosts' the RAM. I bet they start um-ing and ah-ing.

i use Wise Memory Optimizer, is that safe?

You're right bhringer, was getting a little confused (hence my custom title) too many other things going on.

However my point still stands. ASC is essentially a copy of someone else's (in this case WLOC as bhringer pointed out) WLOC had a built in optimizer with the main program being a Anti-Malware scanner (which was poor).
IObit brought ASC to the fold which seemed to do exactly the same thing but a lot of the time gave people false hope as the program made machines brick up after prolonged use.

Incidentally, here is a case in point (and it wasn't easy to find as google seemed to have removed all evidence, I wonder why???) IOBit Steals Malwarebytes’ Intellectual Property
Check out the image in that link it's funny Big Grin

IObit: Trusting Your Antivirus Vendor

The strange thing with IObit is they never seem to be upfront about anything, take a simple Whois of the company

Here we can see the name of the Registrant Name : Appperiance Corporation.
A simple scroogle and you find its nothing more than an Investment company, so let's dig a little deeper.

We have a Registrant Email hugo@iobit.com when we check this address out we find a profile for Hugo where the company is based in San francisco, USA.

Ok no issues there but let's see if we can go deeper still, let's see if there is a headquarters address.
Bingo.

But wait...Gaoxin Rd, Chengdu, 610000, USA???
I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure there is no Chengdu in the US. So where is it? Well the only place that comes anywhere close to it is in China
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Gaoxin+Yulin+Stick+Hot+Pot+%EF%BC%88Head+Restaurant%EF%BC%89,+Gaosheng+Bridge,+Wuhou,+Chengdu,+Sichuan,+China,+610041/@30.6333712,104.0450347,13z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x36efc4f88ab0cae7:0x914185359578a6b5?hl=en

Now it doesn't appear that IObit has a building in China at least not on a map, and as for the US building well that is not much more than a cloud service; Avangate.com

So does IObit exist as an actual company or is it just a one man team with its registrations split across a wide range of pseudo companies and cloud servers making them virtually non existant in any real terms?

It is a teaser. Either way you decide.

I have never used this product or tested it, but I wouldn't have thought it necessary anyway.
