I have a project coming up and I'm going to be using simulation software. According to the manufacturer I should have at least 8G of Ram. Has anyone else used simulation software with all the graphics? Do you find that 8G is enough? I realize that it depends on the software but I'm just wondering.
i think RAM is fairly cheap right now so I can go higher than 8G but I'm just wondering.
TIA.
BTW, since I'm under a confidentiality agreement the only thing I can tell you is it deals with an automotive issue.

Going to come down to what system you have and what your doing and how much system resources is needed to do the job. Hard to say without knowing what it is.
8GB is a good bit of memory, wont cost much to upgrade to 16GB, but your CPU will also come into play, that's your processing power.

That software might need 16GB if the file sizes are large.

Will the processor support it?
It will support up to 16GB.

I think you should be OK, it will depend on what system resources the programs needs to run and also how large files are when open. i5 is a good chip.
