Along with disabling secure boot enable legacy devices (save and exit)  and see if your hard drive is detected in the bios then.

Will try this after the power suggestion. Is this basically changing it from UEFI boot mode to Legacy OS boot mode? (that's how it is on mine)

I would just like to see your hard drive appear in your bios so we can rule out a hardware failure. Does your hard drive show up on the main tab (Sytem Info)?

OK good... Now the question lies as to what happened to your Windows 8 partition. When you boot the computer now what does it do?

I should've mentioned this earlier sorry. Im away from the Laptop at the moment and will be back with it at the earliest tomorrow. However I will try all possible solutions when I get it back, keep them coming Smile

The last time I booted it, It goes to the samsung loading screen (with the normal windows 8 spinning logo) and then just goes to a black screen.

Ah your having a failed Windows 8 startup... Do you have a Windows 8 install disk? Would like to try to run repair option.

Yes, I have a windows 8.1 one, as now I have been able to get the BIOS to recognize the disk, im going to do the power suggestion and then i'll try a repair using the disk, how does that sound?

EDIT: Well I should say I have a windows 8.1 recovery disk (not main install) as I have another windows PC at home (the one im using now)

Update!

Managed to get the laptop to boot to a USB (disable Fast BIOS and change to UEFI and Legacy OS) get into a command prompt and fix the MBR and the Boot. laptop was then able to boot to the hard drive and then I was able to factory reset my hard drive

unfortunately, when I got into the OS I was intrigued to find out what had happened, ran crystal disk Ito and found that my hard drive was going bad. I have some reallocated sector count errors. so I'm guessing my drive can die at any point. Time to take a look at my warranty!

Thanks for the help everyone!
