I had brought a new laptop windows 8.1 but i am not able to find windows media player in it. Is it inbuilt or should i download from web.

On right hand side of screen, open charms bar and go to search and type Windows Media Player

You might want to consider VLC media player as a better application. It can be found here: https://www.videolan.org
