img burn help

Question 
I try making a copy of a window disk with img burn but it came back with errors, am I doing it right I save the files on the disk to the computer as a img then burn them as a img with img burn is this the correct way Thanks Huh

you would need to extract the ISO first

UltraISO is also a good one to try.

Hello I starting right up now I saving the files on the disk as a image with img burn is this correct ? but can you tell me first what type file is a window or linux distro when it on the server and after you download it to your hard drive, I have play with linux distro for many year and been thinking they was a ISO when you download them but I think that wrong ?
ok all files are copy going to step 1

both windows Linux are Iso files

No go the img burn came back with no errors but it didn't boot I did it the way the link say to do it only thing that was was off track was when you put in 4K img burn say to use 8k then when you ready to burn it ask if you want write mode or back up mode it was pre set to back up so I went with that and I save the files on the disk as a image, what did I do worng ?
