Hello everyone
I have a query related to my new sound card
First of all here are my PC specifications:

Motherboard: Gigabyte Dh61ww Intel desktop board
Processor: Intel core i3 - 2100
RAM: 2GB Kingston DDR3
Video Card: (on board) Intel (R) HD Graphics family
Sound card: ESS 1969
Former sound card: Realtek HD audio
OS: Microsoft windows XP Professional

Now here is my problem:

A week ago my PC was working really fine
But suddenly there was no sound output.
I plugged in headphones - No sound, I plugged in my 5.1 system - No sound
So i thought there might be a problem with the audio jack
So I tried the one on the front panel...Still no sound.
So there was only one possibility left..My sound card
I gave it to my local computer service center
After 2 days they contacted me and said that the motherboard was sent to intel and they reported that the sound card had burned for some unknown reason and they wouldn't fix it...
After that I had two options...either to buy an internal sound card OR send the board to another service center...I agreed to buy a new sound card that is the 'ESS 1969'

So I got back my CPU today...and there's some problems with the sound
1.You can hear sounds, But it doesn't sound like it did before. It sounds like a degraded version of what i used to hear in my previous sound card. It sounds like mono output

2.A very low pitched static sound can be heard when no sound is being played.

3.The sound drivers were already installed. But I decided to re-install anyways as there could have been a problem in the sound drivers. I inserted the given drivers CD and tried to install the drivers but wasn't able to

This is a screen of the audio driver CD

'autorun' just open a command prompt type window for a split second
and there's no 'exe' files in the whole disc.

What should I do?
What am I doing wrong?

Hi The sound card  ESS 1969 I think is old type card and I am surprised to hear that the motherboard was sent to Intel it sounds a bit odd to me but I could be wrong, have you seen a fault report from Intel?if you are not happy i would go back to your repair shop and tell them that the problem is not fixed and i would look at them putting a up to date sound card on the system,as i suspect that the sound card Ess1969  was manufactured in 2000 to 2004 so could be old stock or out of an old pc.

Thats what the repair guy said
He said it was sent to intel...the sound card IC was burned up
and Intel doesn't take it under warranty if a product is burned or physically damaged. curse you intel.!  Angry
I didn't see any fault report. I was just informed about the board.
and 7-11 years old sound card? Man I am so mad now.!  Angry
Alright I'll have the repair guy called up tomorrow. If he refuses to change the sound card then i simply have to buy a new card and assemble it myself.  Huh?

Anyways thanks for the helpful reply  You Rock
