This program will reset the permissions and owner of all the keys in the registry. In Windows Vista & 7 this has helped old programs work, like Quick books 2003. In Vista & 7 Microsoft changed the permissions on a lot of the keys. Older programs who needed these keys wouldn't work. This tool fixes that and much more. When a virus or rouge program changes the permission on certain keys in the registry it can break more things then you realize. Services will fail, updates and service packs won't install and programs can crash. By putting the permissions back to what they should be can help solve a lot of these problems. This program works on Windows XP/2003/Vista/2008/7.

Hello I am new to this forum but the original author of this tool has moved his registry repair tool to:
http://www.tweaking.com/content/page/reset_registry_permissions.html

this information is also stated on the pcwintech.com website by the author.

The link where you can read this transfer of this tool to another website is here:
http://www.pcwintech.com/shanes-toolbox

you have to read the whole page carefully, but the info is there.
