I have scanned my computer with McAfee and it says I do not have a virus. Also I do not see where I can get rid of the antivirus plus on my 'un-install list'.

Not a problem Britec, just glad to help. In the area where i come from the computer tech's just tell you they will back up your data and reformat your computer. they cant be bothered with removing this fake antivirus infestations, or they charge $100 per hour to work on them. I have had a lot of experience in removing them from computers. I do find it easier to remove them from the machine rather then trying to explain it through messages tho. you never know how much experience the person on the other end has and i am not good at giving instructions in plain simple to understand english.

I never had any luck with McAfee or Norton myself

The ones I always come back to is Malwarebytes and Spybot-Search and Destroy.

Get them both for free from Download.com

Another thing, --I only run one antivirus program at a time. It seems like the more you try to run the more confused they get and they start calling each other a virus. So simplify.

Do a control alt delete and at your taskmanager under running processes, turn off whatever programs are running that you don't need. They just slow the computer down tremendously

I think your antivirus plus is a virus adware program. Run malwarebytes and it will find it

Another thing that I've found successful, is to unplug your internet cord when you restart your computer after doing a virus search. Some viruses are so smart, they just rename themselves on restart but they usually come from the internet, so deny that link. After restart ans your screen is back, then plug in your internet
