How to run a scan with Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

    * Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
    * If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
    * Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
          o If the program won't start, go to MBAM's program folder (normally C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware), rename mbam.exe to a random file name (keep the .exe extension) and double-click on it to start the program.

    * The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
    * When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
    * Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
    * When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart. (See Note Below)
    * The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.

Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts.
Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process.
If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

Troubleshooting MBAM Problems

Some malware targets Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and other cleaning tools to prevent you from using them to clean your system.

Unable to Run MBAM

If you attempt to run the installer for MBAM and it won't run, or starts and closes, using Windows Explorer go to the folder you saved the install program and try renaming it to one of the following file names:

    * iexplore.exe
    * explorer.exe
    * userinit.exe
    * winlogon.exe
    * mbam.scr

Then double-click on the renamed file to try to run it. If that doesn't work, try one of the other file names above. If you are still unable to run the MBAM installer, then download and run this program to try to kill the malware process:

How to Install and Run

Please download CCleaner (freeware) from here.

Run the installer, and uncheck the option to install Yahoo toolbar (unless you want Yahoo toolbar).
Once installed, run CCleaner.

Important Note: The following should be selected by default, if not, please select:

Then please click and choose

Please uncheck

Then go back to and click to run it.

If presented with an option to install 3rd party software, deny it.

I used mbam to kill the infection, but after that when i test it i still get those annoying pest. Shocked Shocked Huh? Huh? Angry Angry

Azn Birtec

MANY thanks for KAV rescue disk,i'm downloading 2010 ver right now.
Hopefully this will solve everything once and for all.
But which one is better 2008 or 2010?
You probably won't believe me,those freakin ads came back from the grave yesterday.
There's another problem i'm having right now,whenever i make a search on Google engine,
i click on one of the links, it doesn't take me to the original website,instead it takes me to
another website. Cry
Not only that whenever i log in to my user, the first thing that pops up is the internet explorer icon
that comes with 2 options "connect" & "stay offline".
By the way i haven't use ie for months now. if the rescue disk doesn't solve everything
then i really need your help to find a way to format and install vista again.
BUT the problem is this,our cd-drive doesn't work anymore. Cry
Will a external cd-drive do the job?
Thanks again for all your hard work.
Take care and i hope you have a nice day and a lovely weekend. Wink
Bye for now  Bye
 You Rock

Sorry britec, but the rescue disk didn't run properly,is it because i burn it onto a cd not a dvd
or is it because i'm using an external dvd drive or maybe is it because i have avg?
I put the cd in and i restarted the laptop, then during the boot up process a black screen came up with a white cursor.
It look to me that it was processing but only for a few seconds and it totally froze.
I had no other options but to take out the disk and shut down the laptop from the power on/off button and turn it back on.
Please help me when you have the time.
Thanks in advance for your reply.
 You Rock

Try one of the other rescue cd, kaspersky is the best but it sounds like your graphics settings that you choose.

Hi britec

Our laptop don't have any new issues except for invisible adds & internet explorer script error.
Actually there is one new issue,every time when i log in to my user the first thing that will pop up
is the internet explorer connection pop up icon, asking to "connect" or "stay offline".
Bare in mind ever since that incident,we only been using mozilla.
Once i accidentally click on connect and less than a minute, i started to get those ads & script errors again.
This happen when my user was back to normal.
I decided to go into IE and on the menu bar i click on work offline and restart the laptop.
then when i logged back in,those annoying thing was nowhere to be seen or hear again.
Remember the infection started from my sister's user.
BUT when i try doing it on my sister's user i still get those pest. Cry Cry Cry
I seriously don't know what to do anymore.
Champ please help me out here.
Oh! by the way thank you so much for keeping track with me.
take good care  and stay safe
i hope you have a lovely weekend CHAMP.

Hi britec

Ok good news,remember how i said i tried to use the same process(like how i fix those annoying pest on my user)
on my sister's user and it didn't work.
Well i decided to try again and it work this time,but now everytime she log in the first thing that pops up is that internet connection icon
crap,like the one i talked about in my previous post. Angry Angry Angry
Except this time 3 or 4 of the same icon pops up at the same time.
Then when she exit all of them,another 3 or 4 of them pops up again. Huh? Huh? Huh?
When she exit them,there's no more following that.
But she have to go through this process every single time whenever she first log in to her user.
God that is so damn annoying isn't it? Angry Angry Angry
Britec please tell me how to fix this if you know how,which i'm sure you do.
take good care and stay safe
i hope you have a lovely weekend CHAMP.
