Kaspersky Lab product, MS Windows may "
blue screen" or freeze, e.g. while booting or when executing some task. It might be a conflict between the software you have installed or some drivers and a
Kaspersky Lab product. If such a problem arises,
Kaspersky Lab Technical Support should receive a
GetSystemInfo utility report.
There are two versions of the utility GetSystemInfo. GetSystemInfo4.zip [ZIP, 202KB] from the Kaspersky Lab server;
unpack the archive
GetSystemInfo4.zip using an archiver (WinZip, for example);
a file named
GetSystemInfo4.exe will be unpacked;
you can download the file
GetSystemInfo4.exe [EXE, 598KB] in an unarchived form if it suits you better;
run
GetSystemInfo4.exe on a problematic computer;
click
I agree in the window
End User License Agreement for
GetSystemInfo;
click the button
Create report in the right part of the window;
wait until the utility work is over.
You can run the utility
GetSystemInfo from the command line using the following switches:
/quiet - run without dialogue boxes; the utility will automatically create a default log;
/qr - utility system tray icon only; the utility will automatically create a default log;
/qn - no GUI and utility system tray icon;šthe utility will automatically create a default log;
/path - utility log folder (created on the desktop, by default);
/l - log detail level:
1 - Minimum
2 - Recommended (default)
3 - Maximum
Example: GetSystemInfo4.exe /qn /path="C:/reports" /l=3If you have direct access to the Internet, the application will close automatically and a web-page with your
GetSystemInfo report will open in your default Internet browser. The page address will be copied to clipboard. You can add the report address to the request to
HelpDesk by pressing the combination of keys on the keyboard
Ctrl+V.
Information If you connect to the Internet via a proxy-server, the report will be uploaded onto the server and the message will be displayed informing that an error occurred when uploading to GSI server. Click
Cancel close the window with the message suggesting to manually upload the file from your browser and click
OK.gif)
Attach the created file (with the default name GetSystemInfo_<USER>_YYYY_MM_DD.zip) to the HelpDesk form.

The
GetSystemInfo utility can be launched from the command line with the following keys:
/s - this key launches the
GetSystemInfo utility in '
silent mode': in this case the process of report creation is not displayed on the screen.
/r=[path and/or name of the report file] - the key launches the utility and allows to specify the folder in which the final report file will be saved, and to define the file name (if the name is not defined yet) (e.g.
getsysteminfo.exe /r=c:\report.txt, the report file will be created in the root directory of the disk C with the name report.txt).
/NB - this key is used together with the key /r. if these keys are used the name of the final report file will contain NetBIOS of your computer (e.g.
getsysteminfo.exe /r=c:\ /NB , as a result the report file of the utility will be created in the root directory of the disk C with the name of the kind [NetBIOS computer name].txt)
/IP - this key is used together with the key /r. if these keys are used the name of the final report file will contain the IP-address of your computer (e.g. getsysteminfo.exe /r=c:\
/IP, as a result the report file of the utility will be created in the root directory of the disk C with the name of the kind [IP address of your computer].txt)
Information If the Proactive defense component Enable Registry Guard module is enabled in Kaspersky Lab product version 7.0, the following message may be displayed when the GetSystemInfo utility is in progress: .gif)
Click the Allow button.
Information If in Kaspersky Anti-Virus version 7.0 Application Activity analyzer is enabled for the Proactive Defense component the following message might be displayed during work of the GetSystemInfo utility: .gif)
In this case activate the option Apply to all and click the Skip button.
Warning In the web-form HelpDesk do not forget to give detailed description of the problem, actions to be taken in order to reproduce the problem.Information in the
HelpDesk form give the detailed description of your problem and the actions to perform to reproduce the problem.
Information After you have filled in the
HelpDesk form, you can choose one of three variants how to attach a file to the form:

Upload of your files via web-form: you can attach the necessary files to the message using this web-form.
Upload your files on Kaspersky Lab's FTP server manually: you can attach the necessary files to your message by uploading them on the Kaspersky Lab's FTP server in the folder with the name of your request number.
