Welcome to the forum

1. what service pack did you use in your build? if its SP3 then it wont work.

2. You might need to install your network driver to the USB

3. Make sure you configure your network driver once you have booted your USB

4. Do you have the autorun_penetcfg.inf plugin file enabled? There are two inf files for that plugin.

You should see something like this to help you configure your

PENetCfg.ini:

Code:
CODE
[General]
AutoStartNet=No
PromptForProfile=Yes
ShowGUI=Yes

[NetProfiles]
Dynamic IP Address (DHCP)= penetcfg-dhcp.ini
Static IP Address (Manual)= penetcfg-static.ini
Custom from A:\= a:\penetcfg.ini
Custom from C:\= c:\penetcfg.ini

[NetAdapter1]
EnableDHCP=Yes
UseStaticGateway=No
DefaultGateway=
UseStaticDNS=No
DNSServer=
UseStaticWINS=No
WINSServer=

[NetID]
Workgroup=MSHOME
ComputerName=UBCD4WIN

No, Just use a Windows XP disc without SP3, then rebuild your UBCD4WIN with that XP Disc

Hello there, I would just like to follow up on this thread. I know its old but I'm experiencing the same problems. I watched the youtube guide by Brian but it left me in the blue. I have tried making a build with SP3 and 3.5 with no success. I have also found that 3.6 no longer comes with the ubcd4winToUSB plugin unlike 3.5 which does have it. When I tried to make the build using 3.5 and SP3 I received seven errors which may all just have to do with the fact that my Service pack 3 isn't OEM. Here is the youtube video by Brian that I used as a guide
How To Install UBCD4WIN on a USB Flash Drive or Pendrive by Britec

feature=channel_video_title

Here are the errors I got with SP3/3.5 its real ruff but I think you can understand it.

error-loadkey() failed
closehive() failed: RegUnLoadKey (key="PEBuilder.exe-C://...sys32/config/petmphive")returned erroe 0 acces denied
DeleteFile() "C:\\...sys32\petmphive" failed
same^   sys32\setuphiv" failed
setupdecompressorcopyfile() "386\netfxocm.inf to \386\inf\netfxocm" could not find the file specified
sys32\drwtsn" not specified
sys32\srchui.dll" not specied
sys32\mstsc" not specified
mstscax.dll not specified
warning ahcix86.exe not found
I am working on making a build with just SP2 OEM and I will see how that works.
Does anyone think that they may be able to get networking to work with a SP2 build?
