I have a very old IBM doesnt even have a touchpad but has a D drive runs Win 98. I have a XP Home Install disc for my Dell, to find out if this old system will take and install the XP disc, do I go into BIOS and try to run from there or is there some involved process to go through?

It Depends or your system speck

What Ram size Do you have
What Prosessor do you have
What Hard drive size do you have
what motherboard do you have

Desk Top or Laptop


then is the Home XP Disk a OEM copy or is it a rescue disk

let us the the info and I will tell you weather or not you can upgrade to xp home it is quite a step
