Hi there to all,
Just done a fresh install of Win2000 Pro for a friend and updated with sp4 and now I am trying to install Mcafee Antivirus Plus 2010 but I get this message, 'The Procedure Entry Point CreateURLMonikerEx could not be located in the Dynamic Link Library urlmon.dll' . Mcafee was on the system before the reinstall so I cannot figure out why it throws up this message. Hoping that someone out there can provide a solution.

cheers in advance

Hi Ticker,

McAfee was probley a old version on the system before thats why it worked.
First try this link:
http://service.mcafee.com/LocaleSelect.aspx?lc=1033&sg=TS&pt=1&st=CHAT

Things to try:
1. Try and update Windows with all the latest updates
2. Try Update Internet Exporer to the latest version
3. Try and Update .net framework
4. Try and Update Java
5. Try run SFC /Scannow

Hope this helps you out

Thanks for the swift reply Bri

The Mcafee was only purchased a couple of weeks ago and never had it before.

Upgraded system from IE 5 to 6 with all relevant updates, then made two attemts to install IE 7 and 8 but not good to go. After a spell of surfing for the answer for why not, it seems that IE 7/8 is a no goer for Win2000 Pro,not from MS anyway but maybe from elsewhere if you wanna take a chance on it.

Anyways went to CHAT link earlier and got a link to download and install from Mcafee which I shall do tomorrow,
gonna try your last three suggestions first though.

Once again Bri, thanks for the suggestions, big help, you are a good guy thats good to go!
