Hi readers

I have a Viewsonic Optiquest Q220wb monitor and have had it about 2.5 yrs and recently am having a slight problem with it. It seems the monitor is out of focus even though I used the monitor's Auto Adjust settings option. There is a thin line runs down the right hand side of anything on the display.

I have windows7 ultimate,
Nvidia Geforce GT 220(up-to-date)
A screen resolution of 1680x1050
Refresh Rate of 60Hz
Highest(32bit) colour depth
W.E.I rating of 5.1
Visual Effect settings for Best Appearance(all options checked)
Power Options for Highest Performance

I tried System Restore and even did a fresh clean re-installation of windows but no avail.
I also updated the monitors driver but to no affect.

I like to mention that this began when I clicked on a game short-cut and when game started the screen flashed and saw that the game screen resolution had changed from its original setting so had changed it back via the games Video Options and when I quit the game to return to windows , this is when I noticed something was not right.
After a few days of this when in use the screen automatically reverted itself back to normal.
A few days after this when I installed another game , it happened again.

Any suggestion will be much appreciated.

thanks

look closely at the picture and see a ghostly line

I have this problem solved. Me dad popped round with a spare monitor and after a short while ,after a process of elimination , a broken pin of an svga cable  was to blame

Hope this helps others
