Hi Guys, had this problem with a clients computer and thought this post might save you some of you the hours of trawling forums that I had to go through. There was no network connection and the pc could not get an ip address from the router. I tried all the fixes that I could find and none of them worked. A lot of people resorted to a reinstall and I came pretty close myself until I found the cause of the problem. Open device manager and in view "show hidden devices". This will show any items that are having a problem, on this pc it was DHCP and TCIP. Uninstalling and restarting solved the problem.
