I sold a Sony Vio to a gentleman. He has reformated the HD and now asking me to restore a image from Active Disk Image form a twin machine.  I can do this but how do I change Microsofts license back to the original with the number on the back of the machine?  Comments would be appreciated.

the number on the COA sticker affixed to the PC was not used in the 1st place, it will still be unactivated too.  The factory images are already activated by Sony's Volume License. Re-Imaging the machine with the appropriate factory image should reinstate the pc back to it's out of box state, no further activation or entering COA numbers is required.

Thank You for your reply.  If I understand you right I would be able to restore the 2nd image and both machines will retain the original COA's and will be unregistered for both machines.  Correct?
