I get the "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application." error when I try to start some programs. I can't use Modio.exe or Forge.exe because of this error. These applications did not come with installers so there is no way to reinstall them. How do I fix this error? Please help this error is really annoying me!

Problem: The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application.

Solutions

    * install qualified drivers
    * update directX
    * install .net framework
    * update to .net framework to 3.5
    * download and install DirectX Redist (March 2009) from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/resultsForProduct.aspx?displaylang=en&productID=9C954C37-1ED1-4846-8A7D-85FC422D1388

I had a similar problem on my machine which drove me nuts. After trying various registry cleaners, I got some helpful IT support which provided the info below which solved the 0xc000007b error among a few others. Give the following a go -

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833
1.Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow.
2.Type the following command, and then press ENTER:

sfc /scannow

The sfc /scannow command scans all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with correct Microsoft versions.
