Hello Britec,

Having trouble building the win7PE disk.  I get the error:

          " Error with mounting source! (Boot.wim) "

I don't have just one dvd for my Windows 7 installation....I have four and I copied them all to a new folder on C drive.  Made no changes to the build interface...just hit play and received the error almost immediately.  Any suggestions?

Oh by the way...I guess your video on the UBCD4Win build was a great one because  that build came out great on my first try (even though I did have 1 warning). It has worked for me on my Windows 7  64bit computer...believe it or not. Wink

Was you using Windows 32bit or 64bit? did skip, ignore or say cancel to anything when building? Did it tell you where the error was and what was causing it?

Also here is some links with same issue as you that might help.

Hello Britec!

I am using Windows 7 64bit and I did NOT skip, ignore or say cancel to anything during the build.  No window prompts came up at all except to tell me the Boot.wim error after I started the build.

It did NOT tell me where the error was and what was causing it.  I tried several times and each time the same thing happened.
I'm surprised because I didn't add or remove anything leading up to the build.

I will take a look at the 3 links you left me.  Thanks very much.

By the way, is there anything that Windows7PE Disk can do  that Hiren's boot cd and UBCD4Win cannot do?

Hmmm...64bit could be screwing it up huh?  Well, you've taught me so damn much since I've been watching your videos I guess I don't really need this particular repair tool...I have many others thanks to you.

Can you tell me if there is any big difference in effectiveness between Win7PE and Hiren's boot cd or UBCD4win?  The latter two seem to work on Windows 7 64bit for me....well, so far it does.

Britec,

I just read your post concerning the " Ghost in the Machine" problem.  His problem was corrupted backup discs.  I am using my Windows 7 backup discs in my Windows 7 PE build...could corrupted backup discs possibly be the cause of my 'boot.wim' error?

From my own experience UBCD4win and Hiren do not work as well with Windows 7
