Hi there, Britec, I'm having a bit of a problem.
Today my computer alerted me to needing Vista Service Pack 1, which I downloaded and installed. After I ran it, I got the 0x01a001d issue that seems to be common with this update. I left the computer alone for a good while, but eventually got frustrated and try to restart it. The only problem is now when I restart my computer, it won't run anything through the screen, and I mean, it isn't sending anything for my monitor to show. I am unsure of specifications of my pc, from looking at the case I see it's an Advent with Vista x32 bit with intel core 2 duo processor. I'm not that much of a techie guy, and am a little rusty on computer jargon.
Any help or suggestions are welcome, and more so, urged.

I'd say you're insulting my intelligence, but it's a fair question.
Safe to say all the cables are correctly input, and the screen was working fine before I restarted

I'm using a desktop, and I'm running my pc through my television (Which has worked continually over a great length of time now.) There is no signal getting through to the display, though, and the light on the power button of my computer turns on. I'm thinking it might be something to do with the graphics card, but when I plugged it into the sstandard monitor port, nothing happened yet again. I'm really stumped.

ok
(1) try a different VGA cable with it
(2) see if a different monitor will work on it

I've tried it on another monitor, my old one, which was pretty shaky to begin with. It didn't work.
Also, I don't currently have access to another vga, bu is there any tell tale signs on the wire I could look out for?
