Hi

I was cleaning a PC (Vista Home Premium) from malware and viruses. After cleaning, I ran Ccleaner and updated missing updates. I restarted PC and then I got this error (Boo\BCD File Status 0x000000f) upon boot. I did further to repair it like booting from vista recovery CD and tried to go to command prompt, but its not recognizing the OS on HDD. I also tried using the Spotmau Boot CD, but it also failed to see any OS on the HDD. I am really stuck at this point. I checked the BIOS, its recognizing the HDD, but ...... nothing further.

Should I try to rebuld the BCD? If I do so, shall I be able to get the windows up and running again with all the client's information? An urgent help would be appreciated.

Windows vista recovary iso file
http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/

Torrant Downloader
http://www.utorrent.com/

ISO Burner
http://www.freeisoburner.com/

Tools Needed
CD/DVD
ISO File
ISO Burner
working pc with cd burner

hi there I will tell you what to do the same problem happend to me but without the virus part

download the iso torrant file

burn the iso file to a cd/dvd

once you have the cd burned then restart the computer and change the settings in the bios to boot from cd

once you have done that save and exit put the cd and restart the computer

the computer should boot from cd

the cd will load once the cd has loaded it will not find a os to connect to so use the default one it will repair windows the same

once in default with no os installed select the option start up repair

then let the wizard do its thing

restart the computer and run cd again you will then see you o/s

select the o/s and let it load then once you have done that it will come up with a message saying it has completed and then exit the wizard restart the computer and take out the cd and change the settings back to boot from computer instead of cd then windows will start up nornally and login to your user account once you have done that clean the registery useing a regedit cleaner such as reg machanic or norton

clean the regedit problems and continue your quest to carry out what you where doing this is a common problem in vista and it can be repaird this way

leave feedback how you get on
