I accidentally formatted my restore partition (God I feel stupid)... Any video or help on this forum i can get Brian or someone?!

I need this back peoples! If anyone has any clue on how i can just undelete or unformat the formatted partition.. any help would be greatly appreciated..

Now i do realize that there is a video on how to use TestDisk in Ubuntu BUT i have already used it... I'll post a pic on what my partitions look like so you guys can see for yourselves..

Vista Home basic
Dell Inspiron 1525

(If there was a restore disc for my laptop in order to bring back my partition I would be right on it like white on rice .. BUT you don't see that happening from dell.. so... Help me please!! :/
The D Drive is my Restore Partition .. (Or what used to be of it.)

Right to start with that i can see it is not your recovrey drive

the recovary drive is hidden and states Recovarey

check it out in command prompt

stat

run

cmd

type

[Diskpart]

[Press Enter]

[Type]
[list Volume]

[Press Enter]

Look for recovary and you will see it Smiley

[Type]

[Exit]

Then Again

and you will see that the partion is healthy and is ok

it should be about 1.9 MB up to 2 MB

I can't see the system will let you format it since it has to dismount and can only be done in safe mode

hope this helps

there isn't one there, and i did have one before i did the restore.. look for yourself, its supposed to be my 15 gig recovery drive but it's not.

It doesn't state recovery..

And it doesn't have a single file inside of it..

as i stated before... look for yourself and find that that is my 15 gig recovery drive.. just without the title of "Recovery" and the files are missing..

Just a question about making a new one when you create the new one how do you know it will have the

same recovery files on the disk as the old ones had

Also this came up in disscussion the other day and someone told me that you could not see the recovry filles

becuase they are hidden within windows deepen than we can access

Intresting thanks for the softwear

Hi Bradley

What it does is makes a image of the whole drive and stores it on CD, External Drive or you can make a small Recovery Partition.
you can choose to hide or leave the recovery partition visible.
