hi all.yes ive tried to download from your links and its the same thing.the program installs and everything and it appears in the task manager as a process but nothing visible is on screen that it is actually operating.can it be removed manually by simply removing all symantec files etc or does it require this tool to do it?thanks.

Hi there,

You can try this to remove Norton http://www.pcdecrapifier.com/home but the Norton Removal tool should have removed it as should Revo.

When using Revo, the Norton uninstaller that is built in to the software runs first (under Revo) and when finished it tells you to reboot to complete the process.

At this point, did you reboot? if so then Norton will not have been completely removed. Instead of rebooting at this point click NO and continue with Revo.

I always use the Advanced mode which clears all references to Norton and Symantec from the Registry and Hard Drive.

Revo does a thorough scan of your Registry and lists all found references, but be careful and take heed of this warning:

WARNING: Make sure that you only select the BOLDED ITEMS for Deletion, expand every key to make sure that you do not select any by mistake.

This has worked for me every time I need to get rid of Norton, McAfee etc even prior to these companys' acknowledged that their normal uninstall left stuff

behind and before they put out Removal Tools for their products.

Cheers,HTH,

ticker
