What dose it state in the event viewer dose it give you more detail

Start
Run
"Eventvwr.exe" without quotes

Check the application ans system error reports let us know what they say in more detail you say you have done a sfc /scannow what was the results of that test

Kind Regards

event viewer not showing anything on rundll32.exe

and this is the report from sfc/scan
Beginning verification phase of system scan.
Verification 100% complete.

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired
them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For
example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log

but still getting error even though it says repaired files

ok with that said what application is it trying to run when you get this message
this is a common problem in windows vista machines running  Nero and other video codecs if you have this installed then here is the manual fix

Manual Fix:
1. Go to computer, your main drive, program files, common files, Ahead, DSfilter.
2. Rename "NeroVideoProc.ax" to say "1NeroVideoProc.ax"
3. Rename "NeVideo.ax" to say "1NeVideo.ax"
4. Reboot

the problem should then be fixed if it is a deeper problem regarding Dynamic-link library .dll problem then it is recommended you can the registery with a registery cleaner such as regcure or registry-mechanic
