it used to work fine untill one day my speaker died. i tried unplugging and switching speakers. none have worked. i need serious help.

Try speakers on another machine to make sure thay have not gone bad.
Have you done any windows updates? or maybe windows has updated in background.
Check sound drivers and updated them. (get update driver from manufacturers website)
Try plugin a pair of headphones...do you get sound?

onboard sound?
What service pack windows running?
