Hi.
I got a problem with my "sound link" hi-fi speakers. They are 10-12 years old and worked fine till some weeks ago. (probably that's the reason) But a few weeks ago I heard a sudden noise through my speakers and they didn't work anymore. I plugged the speakers in the hole for the headset and it works now but the sound isn't as good as it used to be when it was plugged into the original plug-in position for the speakers.

I don't know the exact name of the speakers, the only thing I know, is the things I wrote above. I plaid a game-software when this happened...

Hi Mani,

Are we talking about Home Stereo Speakers? or PC Speakers?

They are PC speakers. I got them from my first PC on. It works on 98, XP and Vista but as I said, all of a sudden this happened. Are the speakers too old? Or maybe the plug-hole has a problem.

Yeah check device manager to make sure your sound drivers are all ok, try roll back and system restore, still no joy? then swop out sound card see if its ok.
All ok? replace speakers
