Hello, i have an emachines e525 laptop. This morning I turned the laptop on and it said boot/bcd and that the status was 0xc0000098. It told me to insert my windows installation disc, choose my language and click next and then click repair your computer.
When i put the disc in it takes me to the system recovery menu. When i click startup repair it says attempting repairs. After a minute or so it says startup repair cannot repair this computer.
Does anybody know how I could  fix my computer?  Thanks

Boot your computer using Windows Vista installation disk (you will need your windows vista installation cd)

Specify Language, Time, Currency and other options. Click Next

Click 'Repair your Computer' and select the target Windows installation

Choose 'Command Prompt' in 'System Recovery Options

Restore hal.dll, ntkrnlpa.exe and ntoskrnl.exe files in your \Windows\System32\ folder

Restore acpi.sys , volmgr.sys, disk.sys, volsnap.sys, msisadrv.sys and pci.sys files in your \Windows\System32\Drivers folder

Exit the command prompt and restart the computer and check if the problem persists
