Keyboard maybe faulty or dirt build up inside?
PS2 port may be bad?
Num Lock on? or stuck?
May have some sort of worm on the system?
Try updating keyboard drivers

This is because of an external keyboard or onboard screen keyboard was used,
on that, numlock was changed, and still in the system.
When you unplug it, with the numlock off on the laptop, but on on the keyboard,
you will have a difference and its activated in the system, what only can be helped with an external keyboard possibly.

Try this:

1: Turn off numlock on your laptop.
2: Plug in an external keyboard.
3: probably numlock is on, turn it off on the External,
but leave the laptop alone.
4: Now its both off,
5: unplug the Keyboard
6: Now it will be fine!

Well if it only happens when your in that chat program, I would say its got to be a bug in that program.
Do they not have a support forum?

I'm not sure because its two totally different gaming sites. The only thing they have in common is they use flash player.for their chat.I have downloaded the most recent form of flash player an that didn't help.If I hold the alt button down while I type the letters the letter I'm typing works but only if the alt button is held down. The numbers are also the same way they don't work unless you hold the alt button down. Its a very weird problem and its very frustrating.

1] Try logging into Safemode with Networking and see if the problem goes away.

2] In the search box in the Start menu, type in Run. Click the first entry found and a Run window will open. Type in MSCONFIG and click OK. In the new window go to the Startup tab.

3] Explore the list of entries in this tab and remove the ticks to stop them loading at startup. Then click Apply/OK. (if problem goes away, put ticks in one by one untill you find the program that causing the issue)

4] Are you using this software or something like it? if so follow below: (Its a keylogging protection software)
http://www.guardedid.com/support_faq.aspx

Startup Item:  GID Desktop Application

Manufacturer:  StrikeForce Technologies Inc.

Command:C:\Program Files\SFT\GuardedID\gidd.exe /s

simply uninstall GuardID & IDVault

5] Also try go to Region and Language and have a look in there, maybe click the reset button.

You Rock Thanks for the help.I did what you said bout the start up programs and I found that a program I have installed on my computer Dragon Pro was what was causing my problems. The program doesn't need to run on start up. Why would this program cause that problem?
Once again thanks allot for your help.I was going nuts trying to figure out what was wrong with my computer. This website has been a great resource and it is very helpful.
