I am working on a Dell machine that has a legal copy of Vista but the customer did something and now the OS wil not validate. I have tried everything short of reinstalling the OS. Any suggestions out there?

I would check in the event viewer to find out what error is happening

so you cannot reactivate using the key on the back or?
