Hey there,
I noticed the other day that I had only around 10gb of space left on my hard-drive (even though it's not large to start off with) where I always had around 20gb or so
So I decided to look around the hard-drive and found that the 'Windows' folder took up 27.2gb of space and I thought that's not right so I went into the folder, highlighted all items and checked the size of that and it was only 5.35gb so I'm quite sure that the windows folder has caused my loss in space but I have no idea how or how to get that space back.
I also have no viruses as I have spyware doctor running 24/7

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Welcome
aNewZealander Welcome to the forum

you need to run a scan from a virus scanner such as avast, kapkersky, Norton
I know spywhere doctor gives you some protection but not complete protection
do a full system scan and view the results it should not be a larg as that sothing is causing the the problem
that is attached to the folder have you run cleaning tools on the system yet and got rid of junk that is on the system and unnesseserry files I use speedupmypc it is very good
done a disk defrag deep scan and other mantaince scans such as cleamgr

let us know what specks the computer is

Ram Size
Disk Size
Processer

what you have done so far to investigate this problem
have you run any processess scans
you need a virus scanner to check for viruses on the system

let us know and I will do what i can to help you

Kind Regards

Bradley
