Ended up having to reformat drive & reinstall XP.  No problem with that, but now I have no internet nor sound.  I am able to connect to the internet when booting with UBCD4Win, so know there should be no issue with XP.  I need to get online & do update, etc. since this is SP1 of XP.  Any help appreciated.

Sounds like your need chipset drivers, you should of back these up before formating.
whats the make and model of your motherboard? you can get the drivers from there website

A good application for backing up/restoring drivers is Double Driver. It is a free,portable app that runs on all flavours of Windows. Has
a feature that enabled backing up of drivers from non-booting systems. It is available from here:

i know it sounds like alot of work. but have u ever thort of making a dater base of vidioes some were on the forum.

no i mean for the website so.
