Blad123
when you downloaded from the following link did you

Make sure you had windows xp not 2000 ? (two options where given one for 2000 and one for xp)

did you download the iso file and burn with an iso image burner or just burned it to a cd ?

if so what errors did you recive ?

did you get to the menu of options to select from ? (1 - 12)

what options did you choose ?

what errors did you receve ?

did you do everything suggested that brian and ethaneh  said to do ?

I have used this utilerty in the passed and been very pleased with the results evrytime

was you able to get to the menu ?

did you make sure that you where booting from cd in the bios ?

let us know and I will tell you your options

1. I downloaded for windows xp.
2. I did burn with powerISO.
3. I didn't have any error.
4. Yes i did come to the menu and i selected all options but error poped up. So i restarted pc and try other one as it was in instructions. Only last one didn't have error only reboot. I tryed safe mode but same thing.
5. I choose every single option that i could.
6. (Windows could not start because of a computer disk hardware configuration problem. Could not read from the selected boot disk. Check boot path and disk hardware. Please check the Windows documentation about hardware disk configuration and your hardware reference manuals for additional information.) This is problem for first options only the last option i choose it reboots.
7. I did everything that brian said but i didn't try ethaneh option becous i have different system than my brother and my psu doesn't have same connection as his hard drive.

Not much else you can try, I will backup everything and wipe the drive clean and try a fresh install.

You have tried everything apart from a fresh install, if all goes well after fresh install then its all good.
NTLDR is a very common error and I am supprised none of the fix's we all suggested never worked.
you got to remember its you that is doingthe repairs and not us, we can only go on what you tell us, so it is not easy

Try a fresh install and hope theses no more problems.

check the connection of the hard drive and make sure the hard drvie is seated correclty
maybe you need a new hard drive and that is the reasion for the fail

if you can't do a reinstall you need to consider your options

blad123 please try this below to install Windows XP

How to install Windows XP

if it tells "Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your computer" then this error happens because your computer has a storage controller that isn't supported natively in XP, usually a SATA controller. Solving this problem is very simple. Just follow the steps below.

Step 1: Reboot your computer. While startup, before the Operating system starts, press the F10 key or F2 or Del continuously until it shows the BIOS menu as shown below. If you have any start up password or administrator password then enter it. In the BIOS menu select the System Configuration tab.

Step 2: Now you can see the SATA Native Support option. It will be in the Enable Mode as default.

Step 3: Select the SATA Native Support option and press enter. You will see the enable or disable option.

Step 4: Now you select the disable option.

Step 5: After completing the entire task given above press F10. It will show a quit menu. Select yes and it will automatically reboot the system.

Now your computer is ready for the setup. Now you put your Windows CD/DVD in the Disk drive. it is important that you enable the Boot from CDROM option and it is first in the boot order.

NB: This technique may work for other brands other than HP also if the BIOS support the disable SATA native support option. This technique will not only allow you to install XP but also any other operating system of your need in any HP laptop.

If this solution does not work for you or you don't have the SATA Native disable option in your BIOS you have to try another technique using nLite. I have given this solution in this post already

blad123 If none of these work your going to have to use another technique.

Example:

USB Floppy drive

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Origin-USB-F3502-2X-External-Floppy-Drive/dp/B0006FZAHW

This will solve your problem.

hi i was just thinking if your hard disk has had it then trying to repair windows is hard becuase when you try to copy a file from the xp cd to the hard drive the file isent going in corecly so it would be impossible to repair it using that way.The only way it can be done is to connect this hard drive to another machine running xp and copy ntldr from the hard drive running xp to one that isent working correcly.iv trid meathord and it worked out fab.

hope this helps try it.

okay okay okay...  I don't mean to be rude... I don't think I am... but I just read this forum and I can't help but feel like this guys just got bombarded with a million different ways to fix this thing at once from multiple different people trying different things when in reality it really should just be 1 moderator.... 2 at most giving suggestions and keeping note of what has already been done.

If I were the person with the broken computer I would be lost as all get out between all this computer stuff that you just threw at him in a non-sequential order... no wonder that his problem isn't fixed... Laugh.

The real problem sounds like his hard drive cannot even be detected anymore period according to the boot up of his windows CD.  His first step should've been to get his data off of there...  you cannot know if his it is hardware related or not and from the sounds of this discussion so far it is definitely a possibility in which should' have been addressed in the first place.
