 Welcome
MrPaddyw

Without knowing what the specifications of this machine are makes this exercise something of a guessing game. This is why it is important, as we ask, that you read the PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING message at the head of each message board that you want to post on. Doing this not only assists those helping you but also other Forum Members seeking answers to similar problems as yourself.

If you can provide us with the Make,Model etc of this PC, more specific help can be given to assist you.

In the meantime, there is a way to restore to factory settings if there is a hidden/restore partion on your hard drive, put there when the PC was manufactured.

You access this partition on start up by pushing a function key repeatedley. This key could be F9/F10 or indeed any of the others,or you can try running your finger across the row of function keys on start up and you might get lucky and hit the right one.

If this machine does have this recovery partition and you hit the right key you only have to follow the instructions to return the PC to its factory setup state. There may also be an option for you to make your own recovery disks or you may be able to purchase them from the manufacturer.

Cheers,HTH,

ticker
