Hi guys built an Xp machine fully up-to-date with service packs etc., was running with no problems. Then i installed some utility programs on it then antivirus. It was running well on P4 cpu  Problem now is when i boot in to windows after about 10 seconds or so the whole machine freezes and the only thing I can do is to power down to restart it
I have replaced the ram and video card any other ideas and it is still the same.

Regards bob

 Azn Bob

welcome to the forum

Have you tried booting into Safemode to see if it happens?

Also you might want to check for overheating, and heatsink issue.. also have you checked for thermal compound on the CPU?
