How To Edit Hosts File in Windows 8

In this video I will show you how to edit the hosts file and block any website in Windows 8. In previous version of windows you could block a website by simply modifying the HOSTS file. But its all changed in Windows 8 you can’t modify the HOSTS file directly without making changes to windows defender. Windows 8 won’t allow you to block a website by modifying the HOSTS file unless you add “Excluded files and Locations” path for the hosts file.

The reason why you can’t modify is the restriction made by windows defender, the reason for this is because malware often edits the hosts file.
