How to Enable Quick Edit Mode in the Command Prompt: I am a big user of cmd/command prompt, and a feature I use a lot is Quick Edit, by default it disabled, but it can come in very handy when you want to highlight some text or command you may have just typed out in command prompt window.

1. Click Start Button and then type cmd.

  • This will then open a command prompt windows.

2. Now click on the Command Prompt icon at the top-left of the window. Then select Properties.

3. Look for Edit Options. Check mark the box for Quick Edit Mode and then press OK to confirm and close Properties window.

4. Now, once QuickEdit is enabled, you can use your left mouse button to highlight and select any text or commands inside the Command Prompt window. This can come in very handy and speed up productivity.
