Weird jpg files in video folders - JIGSAW - 09-27-2014

Hi BRITEC & all other forum members,

Recently decided to give Win8.1 a try. In all folders that have video files, I get these weird jpeg files that's related/thumbnails for the videos ... see screenshot.

I also have ACDSee installed, that I thought could be causing this, but after uninstalling that, it still happens ???

What else could be causing this ... Google is not helping  Sad ?

Hi welcome to the forum.

You are right, these are part of ACDSee application.
Can you tell me if the images are a snapshot of what's on the video? or are the images nothing to do with the video?

RE: Weird jpg files in video folders - JIGSAW - 09-27-2014

Yes, they are snapshots ... just one for each video

I would not worry it just that software that creates them, if you uninstall software you still have them images, but when you add new videos they won't add any more images.

The problem is it looks ugly & at the same time I like to keep using ACDSee. I've already looked through the setting & I will again, as I'm sure there must be a way to turn that feature off ??
I just thought someone here might have an "out the box" answer Big Grin

You could try this site, it might have a setting to turn off.

Couldn't find anything, so uninstalled ASDSee & ran CCleaner.

Everything back to normal for now. Suppose I'll have to get use to the Win8.1 photo viewer & editor.
