if you say the motherboard can be upgraded to 8GB and if you will upgrade it to that then yes

you could install windows 10 but you might have driver problem

I think it would be better to install windows 7

That would depend on what you wanted from your computer (how do you use it?).

If you go the 8GB route make sure you download the 64bit version otherwise the extra RAM will be useless.

This may help you to decide (pay no attention to the price). http://www.diffen.com/difference/Windows_7_Home_Premium_vs_Windows_7_Professional

If you're using the MS upgrade assistant. https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=20

It should tell you what you need to know and what edition you can upgrade to.

system32 is present on all windows systems and is just a part of the file structure it has no bearing on whether a CPU is x86 (32bit) or x64 (64bit).

If you run this program https://www.grc.com/securable.htm it will tell you what type of processer you have. (*note, sometimes with Vista you will have a x86 - x64 processer, this just means the CPU can run both.

Regarding that 64 i cant run anything in 64bit only 32, i download teamspeak 64 cant run it only 32 version,

and some other games that require 64bit cant run

RE: What is best windows to put on my old motherboard - Compton - 06-25-2017

that would be because you have vista 32bit install you can't run a x64 on program on a x32 operating system

but you can run a x32 program on a x64 operating system
