EaseUS full of virusus - jumbo - 05-01-2018

I've just downloaded the EaseUS backup software as it seems to be very well recommended
But Malwarebytes picked it up has harmful, so I uploaded the file to VirusTotal and it came back
Full of viruses, I've not installed it yet and thought I would get some advice from you guys, is this safe or not ?

8 / 66 is probably more of a false positive, I've noticed MBAM has had more and more FPs of late mainly due to the way Win 10 doesn't play too well with third party anti-malware programs.

I wouldn't worry too much but you may wish to alert MBAM about it.

Here is some information on PUA:Win32/InstallCore

Do you have the link from where you downloaded the software?

It could be a false positive or open candy like this.

What is Open Candy?

Hi guys
Thanks for replying, I downloaded EaseUS from a link on this website
https://www.techadvisor.co.uk
The actual link for download pointed to here
https://www.easeus.com/backup-software/tb-free.html
is this a genuine link, as a newish pc user I'm a little confused

I would say always download from software creators site. The only thing you have to decline during installation process is this below.

Other than that I think they are false positives.

No, I don't think so. I have used the easeUS data recovery tool and it does a good job. I buy and download it on the official website, not any other so-called cracked website. Believe me, don't do this, you may lose a computer.
