Windows 10 Reset & Clean HDD - adrianmyhill - 08-02-2019

Hi All,

This is my first post so please be patient as this could just as easily be described as a hardware issue rather than software. Blush

I have a PC with an RM motherboard it's on the old side but it runs really well. The board uses usb ports for mouse and keyboard - there are no PS/2 ports.

The OS is genuine Windows 10 Pro (1903) and I intend moving the computer on so I wanted to perform a reset and clean the drives (there's a second drive which I used for File History and a system image.)

So, I press the shift key at log in and select 'restart' to access the 'reset machine' facility.

Unfortunately, when the system reboots to reset mode the mouse and keyboard do not work - presumably the usb drivers are not loaded before this facility runs. Angry

Could anyone suggest the best way to either get round this issue or a software utility which can 'scrub' the previous data whilst leaving the OS in place?

Thanks in anticipation

Adrian
