Win 8.1 How to boot to desktop instead of metro screen - TopFreeware - 09-11-2014

First you must have Windows 8.1 installed and updated.

Head to the desktop (Windows key+D is your fastest route).

Right-click on the Taskbar at the bottom of the screen and choose “Properties”.

Go to "Navigation" tab and enable ""When I sign in or close all apps on a screen, go to the desktop instead of Start" option present in "Start screen" section.

Click "Apply" down the bottom.

That's it.
