If my hard drive suddenly becomes raw and windows says it needs to be formatted what can i do.The Hdd is not damaged, there are no ticking noises and it is not accessible.? Its a Seagate 1TB External Hdd.

well you first need to establish if the HDD is in good health before doing anything else

My possible ideas of fixing the raw hdd fixing the disk structure Assigning a new drive letter my last resort using test disk then chkdsk any other options.?

boot Linux to see if you can get access to the data
